GirlzLuvCarz: Coastal Dream in Cape Town

GLC takes on Cape Town.

Our first project began in the Mother City where the sun shines bright. This vibrant metropolis is engulfed by mountains met by the most scenic seaside. This shoot beautifully captures the essence of Girlz Luv Carz on Cape Town's Atlantic Seaboard.

Ethereal, captivating and enticingly feminine.

These words perfectly encapsulates the images created. Girlz Luv Carz is increasing the representation of woman in the Car and Motorsport industry. The Cape Town Project captures that intention in a nostalgic fashion with the warm hues and vibrant colours caught on film. This powerful sense of familiarity almost feels like you've experienced this before.

The strong and striking imagery has a soft and evoking aura that highlights the feminine existence in something considered to be a male dominated industry. The need for this representation is far beyond creating beautiful images of girls and cars — it breaks down barriers of what was once historically seen as a predominantly male space.

Girlz Luv Carz is creating the space for femininity to exist in this sphere by creating a female community around the love for cars. For us it's about inspiring girls to believe and see a space like this exist all around the world for them. We hope to spark an interest around cars in woman that may not have considered it as a space for them.

We intentionally showcase Girlz Luv Cars through the female gaze. We brought together a team of talented female South African creatives to curate and construct images we felt best represented what GLC is all about. This female energy channeled created these alluring, heavenly images.

We understand the value of representation. In the past, women have been misrepresented and their stories haven't been told. Representation opens the door for more opportunities, voices and journeys to be heard. That is where we come in. People need to see in order to believe. We are making them see. We are sharing the stories that need to be told. We refuse to be boxed in, confined by the limitations of the world.

We are carving a new path.
